The evening celebration is party cocktail/party attire. This is a party to celebrate Anna and we want everyone to have fun and dance!

Parking is very limited. The Junction is only a short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge (around 9 miles) and we strongly encourage you take an Uber/Lyft or to carpool to the venue.

 Travel

The following are some suggestions of hotels and lodging in San Francisco near our home and where Bat Mitzvah events will be taking place:

We have arranged a room block at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins at a rate of $179 per night, plus taxes and fees.
Please use this GROUP LINK TO BOOK

The room block is available Thursday through Sunday, but if you are planning to stay longer, please contact the hotel directly about the possibility of extending the rate beyond those three nights.

There are a ton of hotel options throughout the city and if you found this website, you’ve probably got that hotel search thing down too. You can sometimes find weekend AirBnb or VRBO short term rentals despite the 30 day minimum in San Francisco. If you would like options or sanity checks, feel free to reach out to Nikki or Dan.

Reminder that “if you love it, don’t leave it” in your car. There’s still enough theft from parked cars that it makes sense to be keep your stuff safe in your hotel instead of leaving it in your car. If your hotel check in/out time requires you to have your stuff with you for a period of time, please leave with the hotel or you are welcome to put it in our garage.

 SF VISIT

San Francisco offers an abundance of great food, sight seeing, and fun. Below are some links to help you explore!

Restaurants

There are plenty of great food options in San Francisco. If you’re looking for something specific, check out The Infatuation, EaterSF, or the San Francisco Guide. If you want some easy options, we’ve listed a few below. Some are sit down and some are quick take out. All are tasty.

Burgers & Chicken

  • Roam Artisan Burgers - One in the Marina (@ 1785 Union) and one on Filmore (Lower Pacific Heights @ 1923 Filmore). Counter service, casual.
  • Super Duper - A favorite of Anna and Emily. One in Laurel Heights (@ 3401 California) and one in the Marina (Marina @ 2201 Chestnut). Counter service, casual.

Pho/Ramen

  • Cafe Bunn Mi - Casual/counter service and delicious. Chicken noodle soup, spring rolls and banh mi sandwiches. (Inner Richmond @ 417 Clement). Counter service, casual.
  • Marufuku Ramen - Gets busy at peak times but food is outstanding. (Japantown @ 1581 Webster St #235). Sit down restaurant.

Bakery & Bagels

  • Wise Sons Deli - Dan thinks this is the closest thing we’ve got here to a proper Jewish deli. (Japantown @1520 Fillmore St)
  • The Laundromat - This is further out and less convenient, but are Nikki’s favorite bagels in the city. This is a place where you can buy bagels and shmear but they won’t toast it for you or do anything more with it. But Nikki thinks they are worth it. Coffee is great too. (In the Outer Richmond @3725 Balboa Street)
  • The Mill - Our favorite sourdough. His actual name is Josey Baker so of course he makes bread. And he’s really good at it. (NoPa @736 Divisadero St)
  • As Quoted - Laurel Heights coffee and café (Laurel Heights @3613 Sacramento)
  • Arsicault Bakery - Voted one of the top 5 croissants in the United States. Lines are common so if you’re up early, go early (opens at 8am). (Laurel Heights @ 397 Arguello)
  • b. Pastisserie - Award winning Parisian & Viennese-style pastries. Known particularly for their Kouign Amann. (Lower Pacific Heights @ 2821 California St)
  • Tartine - Famous San Francisco bakery known for their bread. (Castro @ 600 Guerrero St)

Quick Sandwiches

Italian

  • Florio - Neighborhood gem on Fillmore. Good for sit down (not takeout).
  • Fiorella - Clement Street Location - Great Pizza spot. If you have a big group, ask for the patio.
  • Delfina Pizzeria - Pacific Heights Location - The Shapiro’s favorite pizza. Sit down or takeout.
  • Lucca Delicatessen - Italian Deli that makes a great sandwich. (Marina @2120 Chestnut)
